Walk through the logic for a moment. If the vibration is only noticeable/objectionable at a given road speed (60-65 MPH), how could the harmonic balancer (or the drive shaft for that matter) be the cause? It goes through the engine's full RPM range when you shift gears to get to highway crusing speed, so the vibration would vary with engine RPM and not with specific wheel rotation...

Logic? When working on an old car? Hum, Logic tells me everything in the front end has been rebuilt and there should be no vibration, but there is, so at this point, yes we are grabbing at straws. I just hope it turns out to be something simple that we overlooked and is easily fixed. Then we will have a good story to tell and can go back to having fun. If not this could be like the old song about the hot rod Lincoln, it's goin to drive me to drinkin!

Terry, When at 65mph, how about going into neutral and shut down the engine.....

Sure seems like wheels or tires to me. I had a similar problem long ago. Left rear wheel was just slightly wobbly. Interestingly at 65 or so I also got a front end shake. Replaced the wheel and all fixed.
