    65 350HP Air cleaner

    My 65 350HP air cleaner crankcase vent chrome tube which exits the bottom side of the air cleaner's base is now loose to the point it will fall out when I remove the base. Was this tube pressed, soldered or what originally?? Should I try soldering/spot welding once I determine the correct position? Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

    Dick;

    Interesting question. Hope someone gives you a response. I don't know 65's, but some fittings like this are "rolled" in on 63's and are the source of problems after years of on/off of the air cleaner.

      Dick, Stu -- Looks like a press-fit to me. I'd pull it out and try a small bead of JB weld, then re-insert; shouldn't even show.

        Dick, the JB Weld will prob do the job. Just MAKE SURE you have the angle proper before it sets up. Bill.

            Dick;

            I see what you mean. It's too bad someone hasn't responded who had the same problem. I'm sure many others have as it sure looks like a "weak link", just as the rolled fittings are on 63's. How loose is it? Does it just turn or does it slide up and down? Reason I ask is I wonder if it was pressed, peened or maybe even spot welded, although you can't see any spots in your photos.
