    Front/rear intake sealant

I've been told by several people that it's better to use a sealant for the front/rear of the intake rather then using the provided rubber gaskets. If so, what's the best sealant to use? I noticed at a recent Cruise-in a couple of newer engines, GM Perf crate motors, used a grey appearing sealer.
    Thanks,
    Jack

GM sells a gray colored RTV sealant. Supposed to be great. If it were me, I use a brand named product that was colored something close to the color of the manifold. Gray for aluminum. Ultra copper for Chevy orange. Or a neutral black.
