    C1 trans access holes

Has anyone seen a C1 floorpan (56 to 62) that does NOT have the three holes drilled in the forward tunnel area for transmission access. These holes are covered by a stamped steel plate on the topside.

    Ed -

I'm not sure when they disappeared, but they were no longer needed when the new aluminum Powerglide was introduced for 1962.

My 56, SN 2117, shows no evidence of ever having these holes. Floor pan appears to be undamaged original. 1956, SN 3298, which I used to own, had these three holes.

FYI: 3298 is a manual trans car. 2117 is a powerglide car.

        Ed,
I have an early 62 powerglide, there are no access holes on the floor.
