    Testing a neutral safety switch

Since I have the car in the air to fix the trans seal, I figured I'd tackle the safety switch problem. To test the switch I assume I can use an OHM meter to see when the switch grounds and has continuity. Would I be able to connect one lead on the meter to the wire to the relay and the other to the frame, as I move the lever manually, I should be able to find out when the switch is "on" and adjust the linkage to get it to work in park and neutral? Any other ways to get it to work?

    Thanks!
