I'm having a problem with the instruments on a 1993 40th Anniv. coupe with automatic transmission. The speedometer, radio volume, and cruise control get "crazy" usually when driving, especially starting from cold, but it has also happened to the speedometer when idling in Park. The radio volume will suddenly go to maximum and as will the speedometer, and the cruise control is themnerratic. I have noted in the manual that there is a vehicle speed sensor at the rear of the transmission which sends a speed signal to the computer and is related to the radio, cruise, and speedometer. Is this the source of the problem?? I have identfied the part number as 10456092, and can't locate one at the local Chevy dealers, as it is apparently discontinued. The car has about 60,000 miles, and other than brakes and tires and a replacement ECM 18 months ago has had no repair work. If this part is the source, any idea where I can get one?Harold Wrede

Thanks for the info, I'll start checking the harness and grounds. Also, forget what I said about this problem happening in Park. It has happened idling in neutral, and therefore possibly rolling slightly, while exiting the garage. Thanks for the reference to Artscorvettes. He has a lot of parts, but not this specific one, which is the later production part number for 1993 with auto trans. They're very scarce, but I found one in upstate NY.
