Oli Pressure
I have a 66/427 with the original 80 psi oil pressure gauge. The engine was replaced in 91 and rebuilt in 2000 but is a 427 with hyd. lifters. When driving cold, the oil pressure gauge is almost pegged at 80psi. After warming up it will drop to around 60 psi. Is this too high? I don't recall it ever getting that high before. What would cause this? by the way...Mobil 1 - 10W30

I believe your oil pressure is normal as all the early big blocks in Corvettes had a 55-60 psi relief spring and an 80 psi gage.
Mobil 1 10W-30 is formulated for modern engines and is not a very good choice for vintage engines.

API service category CJ-4 or CI-4 in a viscosity range suitable for the lowest anticipated cold start.
