Capacitor

The capacitor thats attached to the brake light switch. How is it secured under the dash, I found mine just hanging from the switch. The leads from the capacitor (scotch- lock) are they placed in the brake light switch with the other leads. I couldn't find this in the AIM

Bob, you made go out and look I have a '71 and that yellow / orange capacitor on mine is taped to the harness with black electrical tape. I never remember doing it myself so..? Perhaps someone else can verify if there was a more exotic method of keeping it there.

Well, you made me look too!
My 71, original dash harness, has black electrical tape too. I could even see it without having to lay upside down in the footwell.

Does that tape have numbers on it?
Bought mine new, but from 23 to 60 I may
have made some changes that I forgot

Flip through your AIM book to the U69, radio, option. All of the related 'hush-up' capacitors are called out. You should find PN 3927320 being installed on the stop lamp switch along with the call out for using electrical tape to wrap it against the adjacent dash harness bundle....
