V Shaped Spark Plug Shielding

For a 72 base eng.

The V or boomerang shaped spark plug shields are needing attention. They are original but appears that they were not painted but a dull tin type or natural metal finish.... Does that sound correct.... the JM refers to them but only lists how mounted and how far the V extends down. Thanks in advance for your help!!!

Correct. The shading can vary slightly but I'd generally call it dull.

Dunno.
I stayed home this year, but I'm going on vacation tomorrow.

Well, I'm supposed to go, but our pop-up camper is stuck in the up position and I can't get it down to travel...

I have seen the V shaped shielding in at least three finishes dull gray natural,galvinized, and chrome. Only one may be correct for your year but the location of the shield does not offer a very good look at it.
