When I bought my '67, I noticed that the glove box door had either been painted gloss black or had Armor-All on it. I thought if it was Armor-All, it would eventually lose its sheen. Well, it hasn't, so I assume it's gloss paint.
Should I wipe it with lacquer thinner, then spray it with Krylon 1613, and hope it doesn't bubble, or completely strip it before repainting? Is there an almost flat clear coat that would work? Any other tips? The glove box door is original and otherwise perfect.
