    Adjusting hydraulic lifters

When adjusting lifters using the static method by adjusting certain valves at TDC and then others at 360 degrees from TDC ( zero clearance then tighten 1 turn) how critical is it that the timing mark be on zero?
If off by 5 degrees can that be fatal to the engine.
I just did my 250 HP FI 57 and it sounds great although I am sure I was off by a few degrees.

I don't think that 5 degrees, or so, off the TDC mark will cause any problems, at all, with respect to hydraulic lifter static adjustment procedure.
