C1 Rear Bearing

I am replacing a rear bearing on my 59. The standard replacement bearing fits well on to the axle and in to the axle housing, but does not have the spacer that fits into the recess in the rear axle flange plate. (ie between the bearing and the plate that holds the bearing into the brake back plate.) On the old bearing the spacer seems to be a part of the orginal bearing. What am I missing?

Just replaced the rear wheel bearings on my 1961 positraction. The bearings were Federal-Mogul RW-607-NR. The RW-607-NR bearing is wider than the original bearing and the spacer is not needed. The bearing is also packed and sealed and you do not need the external seal that would be used with the original Hyatt bearing. I called Federal-Mogul customer service and talked to a technician. He stated that the built in seal (rubber flap) needs to be installed toward the differential and do not modify the bearing (remove the rubber seal). The outer seal was not designed to keep oil from leaking from the axle.
