The black L88 is a '69 and the green roadster is a '68. Both are great cars. The 4 mile '72 is here for its fifth star. It was judged at Hershey in '03

WOW!!

I know it is "old hat" to most you guys but today was my first day as an "OJ", observer judge!! As the saying goes "Like a kid in a candy store!!" This is my first NCRS meet and I'm having a blast talking and meeting to some of the guys I've "talked" to online. I was able to follow Dan and David around today judging the mechanical section on the SB 67's. They(not Dan and David, the SB's) are now becoming the "RARE" breed so-to-speak. Only 4 SB 67's were signed up but all four were great ones. I learned alot going around with Dan and David, they explained every detail and didn't hesitate if I had a question. As I mentioned, in the 2 days I've been here I've met some guys that have helped me through the site the last year and a half on my 67 SB. I'm greatful to finally be able to put a face to a voice. I've taken several pictures and will post some when I get back home so those of you that couldn't make it will be able to enjoy it somewhat. Gotta go take a load off after a day on concrete.

Thanks Alan. Here you go. This is the hall with all the flight cars, with some display cars also. There's roughly 150 in the hall, and I would guess about 25 of those are display. I'm sure somebody on here will know exactly. The Red 62 is a FI, big brake, big tank car. I've added my own 56 in this one also just for the heck of it. Tomorrow is judging day for me. Tom, I don't know if the 3 cars got the awards they we're after or not until the banquet tomrrow night.

thanks for posting these pictures - it seems to me that there is not much room to move around - cars are lined up pretty tight or.....

Judging was for Bow Tie cars today after thunderstorms moved through last night. Flight Judging starting tomorrow. 69 Black L88 with 19,000 mi. 69 Green 435 with 1,300 mi and Yellow 72 454 with 4 mi. Yes, 4 miles.

any awards for the low milage cars ?
that black L88 is nice

Another great Convention ended with a perfect evening. The Black L88, Green 435 68 and Yellow 72 454 recieved the 5th Star Bowtie Award. The L88 also won Duntov. Some sad news, there was one member who broke her ankle and one member suffered a heart attack on Tuesday. He is still in the hospital with a stint, but he is said to doing fine. His Green 67 BB Coupe won a Duntov Award. Thanks to everyone involved with making it a terrific Convention again. A special thanks to Kelly Waite. I hope you guys enjoyed the pictures and commentary.
