Correct finish on 64 sun visor nuts

    Hi all,

Can someone please tell me the correct finish which should be on the four special screws and nuts used to tighten the sun visors? All the vendors seem to sell stainless but I think they should be zinc. Any help with this matter is appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Craig W.

I'm away from my references this week, but I doubt if Styling would ever have bought off on exposed interior trim fasteners being zinc-plated.

Hey John, the reason for asking is at the last Regional meet I attended I was deducted several points for the fastners being stainless. Looking through all the parts catalogs they all show them as stainless as well. I must be missing something or the judges were just having a brain fart. Let me know when you find out. Thanks for your input.

        Hi Guys
The original screws were natural steel. That's why they rusted so badly and needed replacing. The trim washers, however, were stainless steel.
Not only are the re-pops stainless, but, usually have a flat area on top of the head with machining marks, where the originals were smooth finish pan heads.
Oh, by the way, the end with the point of the screw shaft protuding through the slotted half is positioned on the top when the shade is in the "up" position.
