    C1 brake adjusment cover Trivia

Getting into the nicknacks of items under your C1 like paint markings I read about ,how about finding and using the correct brake adjustment dust covers as seen at the top left corner here made in "STEEL" not RUBBER or even the brake shoe retainers not coil springs & cup.

I picked up a set of steel ones even though I'll rarely see them. I like them better than the rubber ones...

I've used steel on my C-2 (63) as well. I was thinking more in terms of weight savings, you know, less unsprung weight. Seriously, I find them easier to use. It's not as if you're going to keep water out with them anyway.

Wonder if they judge for them like paint markings

Not sure Roy, but yours are in your backing plates, right? In mine they are in the drums. Just the fact that you have them in place is different than original as the drums had knock outs. Only once you have removed them to do an adjustment on a "second" set of brakes do you use the clips or plugs. Wonder how the judges treat that?
