    Hey Gerard,
    Look forward to a meeting someday.
    Just rememeber....nothing much in my house is sacred. Some guys find it a little un-nerving.
    Best, Sandra

      Sandra;

      You are the exception. My wife won't even ride in my Vette, and yet over the 43 years we've been together, there have been several times I considered selling it and she is the one that wouldn't hear of it. She says it is a member of our family (she's kinda possessive). These are my girls - one has been with me for 45 years and the other for 43. Hope to have them as long as I can. I'm very fortunate.

        If anyone has spoke wheels or wheelcovers the dishwasher is the best. Sure beats working with those little brushes, etc.

          You clearly got the better of that deal...a kitchen remodel with granite countertops, all new appliances, and custom cabinets won't cost what a midyear will. Of course, you'll be paying for it all, so I'm not sure congrats are in order just yet.

            Stuart......I think that is pretty darn neat.
            You have the best of both worlds....and it's great that you appreciate what you have, too!

              With all these posts, showed the pictures to my wife of what was being cleaned in dishwashers. Would you believe she gave me to "go ahead" to use the dishwasher? I have the valve covers on the 85 to clean so I can repaint them, do you think the dishwasher will be the way to clean them?

                Sandra, Too bad u r in Oregon. Consider moving to SW Corner of PA and you got it made sweet pea. So you have carbs on ur kitchen table. Wow. Every car nuts dreams. How about sending some pics with you in your kitchen working on those carbs. Maybe do a nice article for poor Vinnie.
                One thing to watch out for Sandra. You aren't that far away from a really dirty old man. Likes 62's just like you do to. Doesn't know squat about them though but he does like dem. Goes by the name of dipper stick. Be really careful. JD

                  Jim, We refinish our valve covers in the dishwasher. Trick is to use the lemon or orange flavored soap. Does a really nice job too. On the other hand that strong detergent can easily burn the aluminum. Been there.
                  So MH cleans his wiring harness' in the dishwasher huh. Interesting.
                  My day job is I am a slum landlord. Didn't start out that way except a lot of the tenants are slobs. Anyhow one day this young girl was complaining her dishwasher didn't work. Seems she was washing her undies in the dishwasher and they got really jammed up in the motor.

                  Well if there are quests here looking in for the trial period they are sure to sign up and where else can you get some a fine collection of wackos.
                  And they say the VH's are wacked out. Whew. They are tame compared to you guys. JD

                    Why is it that a woman's sense of smell is so much keener than us guy's. When I walk through the department store perfume section my wife will try various samples and ask me what I think, and I tell her they all smell the same to me. Then I get one of those "Ah, you're no help!" But you're right, you have to be careful what you do in the house and what you bring in. Like when I've been out in the garage messing with the Vette and get a little oil or gas on my hands it's; "You Stink!" OK smarty, tell me what octane it is, Ha! Heck, I can't even sneek a bite at Micky Dee's without her detecting it as soon as I walk in the door!

                    Maybe it's because we've spent our lives around so much hi-octane gas, gear lube and other related mechanical associated chemicals that we've lost that "Delicate" sense of smell.

                    Mens' sense of smell is absolutely OUTSTANDING when it comes to food. Mine is, anyway.

                      Joe;

                      According to my wife, mine ain't so great, and she says my taste isn't much better. i've guessed wrong many times and had to bluff my way through; Ya! That's what I meant!

                        Does anyone else spot the strong correlation in these posts? It's apparent (with notable exceptions) that prepping parts in kitchen appliances are strongly tied to soon-to-be ex-wives. There also is some evidence of spousal bribery - trading kitchens for Corvettes.

                        With all of this twisted thinking, I now know why I'm part of this group!

                        Cheers,

                            Chuck - I used to think your thumbnail was a cartoon. but now I'm beginning to believe it's a self-portrait... if not a fer-real photo.

                              John,
                              Are there any wide open spaces in PA?
                              If it isn't trying to identify car parts in late husbands stash that I have no idea what they are, then I spend some time smithing on some of my (many) guns.....need room to shoot. Some of those parts also get a run through the dishwasher or if they're in need or a soak in rust remover (vinegar).
                              Spend a lot of time reading posts on TDB and taking notes.....the Corvette will eventually head for an engine rebuild (as soon as I have a clue), but learning more than I thought possible. And enjoying it all.
                              The dirty old man down the road from me is apparently well known.....have had other warnings. I've emailed several dumb questions to him and he has been a great help. I thought he was really sweet.
                              You should come for a visit to the wild west.
                              Don't know about the photos......maybe.
                              Cheers, Sandra
