Odd '58?

I was at an all car type of car show last night and I saw what I beleived to be kind an unusual optioned '58. The owner has had the car 2 yrs. and said the numbers matched, I know, doesn't really mean all original. It was a powerglide car, power windows and the high rpm solid lifter tach. He didn't have the hood up, because he said the engine compartment was not detailed. I had never heard of a pg with a solid lifter engine.

Having owned an ol' 58. They didn't offer SL engines in a PG combo. Locally we have an alledged 66 BB at shows here. Again the guy NEVER opens the hood. Cars got a low RPM tach as well. Oh well.

OK, how 'bout this instead: Powerglide wasn't available with optional high-lift cam engines in '55-'56 (all '55-'56 engines had solid lifters), or with any solid-lifter engine from '57-up.
