It seems that most of the powerglide transmission pans that I have seen have drain plugs. The pan on my 64 does not. I originally thought it was the wrong pan but the stamping on the bottom of the pan is T 10 21 N. This jives with the build date of the car; Oct 30. I know the transmission is original to the car; wasn't sure about the pan. Could this pan without the plug be original to the car? If so, when did the changeover from "no plug" to "plug" occur. Also, what color should the pan be? Thanks in advance. Jim

Re: Powerglide transmission drain plug
Most all early PG's dint have a drain plug , that way the dealer replaced the filter at the same time , natural steel color not paintedIt seems that most of the powerglide transmission pans that I have seen have drain plugs.
