I'd love to be behind the wheel banging the gears!
Of course, I probably wouldn't stay on course as well............
Thanks for posting!

That's on the "Lutz-ring" or whatever they've nicknamed Bob's short course that was added at the MPG.
I recognize it well.

Re: something for you guys that were on the GM test track at the NCRS meet.
Art Armstrong and I met with Bob Lutz this morning and presented him with a framed printer's proof photo of the Proving Grounds gathering from the Motor City Regional, a letter of appreciation, and a copy of the new "Restorer" magazine. He was very appreciative, and indicated that GM would work with us for even more fun at the 2011 National Convention.
Bob said that the "Milford Road Course" which he had built (which includes the "Karussel" banking from the Nurburgring) cost about $8 million to build, and has already saved more than that in terms of reduced shipping costs of development cars back and forth to Germany.
He said he gets phone calls and e-mails every day from Corvette enthusiasts looking for his help in getting a new ZR1.Attached Files- Top

I'm glad you got a picture!
Now I wonder whose idea it was in the first place to go to the MPG during the Regional...
Thanks for everything, guys!

Re: something for you guys that were on the GM test track at the NCRS meet.
Now I know where the Hibiscus shirt color came from.
Thanks to all of youse guys for giving us a chance at some real fun.
BTW: I got the G-meter up to 0.5 on public highways today (can I say that here?). Not real high, but enough for the public way. I need to get back to the MPG to get it higher. Bottomed out the air dam a couple of times today at the bottoms of hills. I want another chance at the 20* incline -- this time with no one in front of me. I think I could get airborne without too much effort there.
Ozark roads ARE fun. More fun tomorrow.Last edited by Terry M.; July 18, 2008, 09:03 PM.Terry- Top

Your very welcome Patrick, but it's not the WHO had the idea, but it's who you know that counts.
We did have a nice meeting with Bob, but we did have to take a back seat to John McCain who met with Bob in the AM.
I would also like to thank the NCRS and especially Vinnie for their suppling the framed photo and copies of the Restorer for Bob and Gerald Wilson of the MPG.
Bob also told us that he would do the fly over the next time and take an aerial shot, I told him that we would take him up on that!

It isn't that I don't like the flowers -- they look good in that color. Shirts and Corvettes-- not for me. But that is what makes the world go round.
