    Original Water Pump

I am looking for some input as to the water pump on my 65 Bowtie car. The original pump required rebuilding. Has anyone arrived at a technique to match or replicate the original patina of the engine and engine compartment? Perhaps leaving the original cast alone (it has been cleaned by the rebuilder) is the way to go. Any ideas? In advance, thanks for your interest.

Not quite sure what you're asking- but I assume you are aware that the pump was painted insitu along with the rest of the engine. If you're trying to make new 2008 paint look like weathered 1965 paint, maybe ask the the model train guys. They have all sorts of techniques for making new look like old.

The rebuilder I used and am very happy with, called and asked me if the water pump was off of a Bowtie car, so that he would not strip it and lose the original finish. Ask you rebuilder or send me a PM and I will tell you who I used.
