63 Split-Window For Sale - too good to be true...

I found a 1963 Split-Window Coupe for sale at an outrageously low price that has to be too good to be true. I wonder if this car is one that someone found missing from their garage one sad day. The VIN is 30837S113175. I checked the Black Book and the numbers are correct, but I have not see them with my own eyes.
Any suggestions on how to check this out further?
    Thanks.

    Andy,

It is most likely a scam. I was able to find the ad by searching for the VIN. When you email the alleged seller, I'll bet you that he will want immediate payment via wire transfer. If it sounds to good to be true....

      Yes, Thanks Don.

They did send pictures. I played along and so far they won't send me their "shipping from" addrees unless I give them all my personal info.

I've seen many of these before, but I just was hoping to help the true owner if he was looking for his car.

Just checked Vin # in the C2 registry and it's not there. I know that doesn't mean much, unless it was some unsuspecting owner....

Tell the seller that you or local to seller appraiser want/must see vehicle and will have cash if car looks good. If reputable they should have no problem.

Is there someone involved with the police that could be able to run the VIN through the FBI data base of stolen autos?

            A beautiful 63 Coupe for $4600.00???
If it sounds to good to be true , it is a scam.
Google lists the sellers site auto.nw source.co.. as suspicious and states that the site will try and download junk to your computer.
Not a good site to visit.
