What should timing be set at? What type of plugs and where can you get them? Is gap still .350 I retired my 40+ year old timing light. These new ones sure are bright. I also need a new left muffler. One little backfire while installing the dist really popped one.

Original timing specs for your engine are 4 degrees BTDC. The spark plug gap is 0.035". Original plugs were AC-44. AC 44 is no longer available, but there are equivalent plugs in other brands.
No mufflers for your application are available from GM. You will have to go "reproduction" or aftermarket. Your application uses the oval style mufflers, I believe. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
