    1961 Corvette bike

Thought I would show what a 61 Corvette 5 speed bike looked like for those that may wont to have one along with your 61 Corvette as a match set as I have done with my 55 Corvette.

I am actually glad this topic is brought up. There is a very major bicycle event not far from me this week. I go every year. It is FULL of old bikes, that may find a new home. I will be looking for some this week and if they are not matching numbers, they soon will be. At least there are no broach marks to worry about. If you are looking for a certain year, let me know and I will see that it is the year you want. There are also Jaguars there as well, but they do not have the 6 taillights.

Roy, I went to the show and there was only one Corvette bike there. It was a '58-'61 according to the pattern of the decals and with a Sturmy-Archer 3 sp. That bike was not for sale. There was a Jaguar there, but I didn't really look at it. Stingrays were everywhere! The bike you have pictured according to the Schwinn people there would be a '63, according to the pattern of the decals, with the block Corvette.. '62's had the same script 'Corvette' as the earlier bikes, but the word Schwinn is smaller. A one year only decal. Decals of correct style, are available for all year Corvettes. Asking some of these guys about value, is like asking some what a Corvette car is worth. It depends if you are selling, buying or want to feel good about your investment.

The Corvettes are on ebay on a regular basis. Many sellers will not ship. I have had a few and sold them when the prices went up. I paid under $50 for each and sold them for around $250. One I had at a car show riding around and a guy had to have it. He didn't even let me use it for the rest of the day. I have seen prices as low as $100 as high as $1000. About a month ago there was a very nice unrestored 59 I knew of that sold for $1500.

I find them vary interesting and like the idea of having a 55 bike to go along with my 55 Corvette. It's just a new world finding Corvette bikes
