      Re: Driveline On-Line

I'm with you Dick....very nice to have it available in this format.

I was hoping for a Search tool, but I think it'll have to be done in the PDF format one section at a time, but it's a very positive move in the right direction.

FYI - Adobe Reader pdf search Find function - Control/F (depress both the Control key and F key simultaneously). Enjoy, Gary....

              Gary and Vinnie,
Don't get me wrong....I love that the DL is now online and you guys have done a simply amazing job.

I have searched via PDF in each section. My comment was directed more towards the example of.....

Say I was looking for a 3782870 block. It would be nice to some how be able to do a complete/entire DL search (not a section by section). That's all.

              Your work is appreciated.

                David,

All the hard work & kudos go to Gary & the IT team...I was just a tester, had absolutely nothing to do with getting it up and running...you can narrow down your search once you get the hang of it...if you look at the sections...you can eliminate some of them...the front, back and "cars for sale" sections and really just concentrate on the "parts for sale" sections...does that make sense?

                  Members,
Please keep in mind that NCRS Membership dues benefit directly from the Driveline advertisers. NCRS's challenge is to maintain and not jeopardize the benefits NCRS and it's Members receive as a result of the Driveline advertising.
NCRS would appreciate it if Members relate to the Driveline advertiser when contacting them that "You Found it in the NCRS Driveline".

With that being said; your NCRS Board of Directors and volunteer IT staff reviewed several different approaches and software. At this time the best solution for NCRS is to present an "electronic" version of the printed Driveline.

                  Enjoy the Driveline on-line. Regards,

                  Gary

                    Vinnie,
Makes sense. I understand and have done what you are saying. I guess after some time it will hopefully make more sense as to which section(s) to search versus which section(s) not to bother searching.

I eventually get around to reading each and every word and advertisment, but my example is what I'd categorize as a 'Quicky'. We all know if you get your Driveline via Snail Mail, by the time some receive and call about a part, they can be gone because someone received theirs days earlier. I was hoping the Online version would give ALL equal opportunities for a search on parts. That's why I am inquiring.....

Does any one know if there is a way to 'label' each section. Besides the pages covered?

                    Thanks again to all involve,
                    David

Vito, First class job with "The Driveline" on line. Now the word Drive line really means something. Very easy to use and easy on the eyes. One more reason though for old JD to get a bigger monitor. Thanks very much, John D.

How do I print out a page, or even better a part of a page from the section with the meets in it. I can highlight a half-page meet registration, but the print icon is grayed out what I do that.

I had no problem printing the calendar of events, but that was a one-page section.

My challenge is how to print a chapter meet registration, and preferably make it full page size so I can fill it out.

I like it and it works but I wonder whether it would be possible to make the size of the document smaller. I mean; in professional life I see docs in full color with double the amount of pages that are 5% of the size of these (black and white) docs without any quality difference. This would enable us to have the full 100+ pages in 1 document.

Erik raises and excellent point. Having everything in 1 doc would make searching for that elusive casting or part number that much easier!

Regardless, I think these constructive criticisms should not diminish the accomplishment of publishing this document electronically. Well done!
