Could use some help on power window problem

The passenger side window works just fine. Drivers side will not go up, and when the switch is operated the motor pulls over 40 amps on the ammeter, so I'm pretty sure the motor has power. When the power window switch is operated, either up or down, I can hear a clicking sound from the vicinity of the motor.

Car is a fully restored '63 coupe, all of the internal parts are new, including the motor and the lift mechanism. I removed the door panel, and tried to move the window up manually thinking it may have been stuck, but could not get it to move. I loosened the four screws holding the mechanism to the door thinking that may help to move it if it were stuck, but this did not help either.

I connected a battery charger to the battery to make sure that it wasn't a case of low battery voltage, but no success with that either.

I noticed an adjustment screw that appears to be on the motor (hard to see with the window down) - is that a limit adjustment? Could that be the source of the problem?

Is there something else I need to try, or do I need to pull the motor and replace it? Does anyone have a disassembly and reassembly procedure for pulling the motor out of the door panel?

    Would appreciate any feedback!!!

    Thanks, Bob

Bob, make sure the motor has a good ground connection. Had problems once due to that.
