    62 Distributor ID

I pulled the dist out to install the breakerless components and found the ground wire hanging by a thread on one end and loose on the other. It appears the dist is not a 62.
    -Distributor casting 31 on housing.
    -1110984 Delco Remy 2 D 13 on the band.
-Patent 2769047 onthe plate where the points were.

I am taking the dist into a repair shop to get a new ground wire & new dist lead wire while I'm at it. Doesn't appear to be a lot of play in the shaft. Anything else I should be looking for?

    Re: 62 Distributor ID

Why does it appear that the distributor is not a 62? 2 D 13 computes to the 13th of April, 1962, and 1110984 is the right part number for a 250/300 hp car.

Thanks Mike! For some reason I was thinking it was a 63 motor. It appears all correct with casting date but the deck was machined down and I didn't really know.
