    Block identification FII0fEB

    Can someone help with this block identification.
    casting number 3783870 (63-65 327)
    date code 1225
    engine pad stamp FII07EB 124709

    The owner thinks it's a Corvette block. However, I think it came out of something else. I could not find the suffix "EB" in any of my Corvette documentation.

    Thanks

      I show that casting used between 62-67
      F= Flint Plant
      11=Nov
      07 7th
      EB=1965 327 Chevelle
      124709=Serial
      Date 1225 Not sure what that is but casting dates are Alpha=Month, then day & year. Nobody was working on Dec 25th.

      I would say you have a 1965 327 from a Chevelle

      EB 1957 283 hi lift cam - V8 full size
      EB 1958 283 turboglide - 230HP truck
      EB 1965 327 high performance - 300HP - Chevelle

          Date cast is probably I225 rather than 1225. That would compute to September 22, 1965, and would be in line for a November 7th assembly. The problem there is that the EB code comes for a 65 Chevelle, and the September/November 65 dates are really 66 model year.
          One thing for sure, it's not a Corvette motor from the factory--it may have been inserted in a Corvette sometime along the way, but that doesn't exactly make it a Corvette motor!
