    65 Convertible - Mission Accomplished!

Well, after years of blood, sweat, tears, and more money than I dare allow myself to ponder; my 65 is finally ready for her big debut. I plan on having her judged next month, so we'll see what the judges think of my work. She may not be the prettiest girl at the dance, but she'll still turn a few heads.

Thanks to all of those on the board that have helped me along the way. I only hope that I have been able to give back some of what I have received. Here's her first photo shoot at the link below. Ain't she purdy?!!

I would be real proud to dance with her, hope you do real well with the judging. I did my only frame off back in the early 90's - to old now to give it a whirl, but I do remember how great the feeling is when you see it all together again. Good luck.

          Hey DON-

Would you mind if I ask her out for a little dinner (Sunoco) and a dance (Main Street U.S.A. Cruise)? She's BEAUTIFUL, job well done, be proud Papa, be proud!

Well done man. It looks great. I really enjoy the large number of pics to compare with mine - project yet to start!

How long did you work on it? Was it a full body-off restore? Did you do most of it yourself? Who did your paint?

Sorry for the q's but seeing a complete one really makes my imagination run.

                Cheers,

'Beautiful Rally Red '65! It looks great!!! I noticed the 29A plates---we lived in Carmel but that was was five moves ago. Do you remember seeing a '65 or '66 maroon, small block, tan interior, tan soft top, gold lines and knock-offs around '88-'89? I used to see it on Meridian near 103rd heading south in the morning.

                  Congratulations! A great job!

                    Donald,

Great accomplishment and a great job on the restoration. Best of luck with the judging process.

There are two kinds of friends; the friend you call to bail you out of jail and the friend sitting next to you in the cell saying "Damn, that was great"!!!

Thanks! I think it has been about 5 years or so. It started as a body on, but I ended up with a body lift so I could replace fuel and brake lines, and paint the frame. I did everything myself including paint and body work which is what I am really proud of. Now what am I going to do with my spare time?

                      Thanks!

I'll give you one suggestion for your spare time - get your Top Flight then DRIVE IT!!!!! Plan one big long road trip and smile the whole way. You'll get a charge out of all the recognition and discussions you get at every stop along the way.

                        Cheers,

I guess I could learn to live with the color (Nudge, Nudge, Wink, Wink).
When & where are you planning on having it Judged?

I don't recall that particular car, but I do recall a black C2 (65?) in the area in the mid-80s. A beautiful car driven by a middle aged guy with an even more beautiful young lady passenger. Oh, how I wanted to be that guy. That dream helped motivate me to finish college. Now I just need the beautiful young lady!
