midyear glovebox tumbler wont turn. How do I open?

After locking the glovebox,the tumbler now refuses to turn,. In fact, the key will not insert fully.Looks like i'll have to remove the glovebox to get to the lock. What has to be done? Any suggestion?

Hi Howard, don't you hate when that happens?
Pull the four Phillips screws under the door that retain the hinges to the "Z" bar and the screw in the spring. Open the door from the bottom while pulling downward, presto...open.

Once you get the door off, if you need to get the lock fixed I'd suggest Pat Krause in Maryland. He fixed my original lock and it's back and working fine. Pat was quick and reasonable on the repair. You can contact him at (410) 879-9647.
