1968 Corvette 427/390HP GM Belts

Hello,

Could you provide me with the GM part numbers for the Alternator, Power Steering, and A/C compressor belt and possibly the length and size of each belt for my 1968 Corvette 427/390HP? Also, I currently don't have my smog pump installed so I would like to get the P/N for the GM belt that will work without the smog pump.

The PN's for the factory original v-belts will be called out in your copy of the AIM book. BUT, these will be the PN's for the belts originally used in production (cloth wrapped vs. die cut). The only source for these belts is via reproduction and my personal opinion is they're good for show but NOT durable enough for every day driving...

The P&A (Parts and Accessories) catalog will provide a table showing original PN's and service replacement PN's. The later era service replacement belts were of die cut construction and they were MUCH better from a longevity standpoint.

But, these die cut belts were made to metric standards and they're slighly wider than the factory original cloth wrapped belts. That makes them ride higher in the pulley grooves requiring the overall length of each belt to grow when compared to the factory original belts they replaced....
