Need help with 85 Digital Dash

The voltage read out on my 85 dash is reading 2 volts lower than it should be. It had me going for awhile thought the alternator or battery was going. Checked the voltage at the battery running and off and it was okay. 12.9 and 14.0 respectively. Is this a internal problem with the digital cluster and would Killebrew's book be useful to make internal repairs?

A 1 - 1.5 drop is normal. As long as it works- leave it alone.
