60 reproduction FI exhaust RH Manifolds

Has anybody compared or have seen these and can tell me how they compare to original 556 F.I.- R.H. exhaust manifolds? How would they judge out? You know the ones without the choke tube hole.
    Thanks
    DG

if you are referring to the repos' that Paragon brought out about 8-10 years ago, they'll take a deduct because the mould seperation humps across the top(which are present on originals) has been ground off the repos.mike

      Mike (or anyone),

What is the typical point loss for a manifold with choke tube? Same question for the repop? Wondering if this is even worth the $$$ . . .

Some of the more recent reproductions are very good--those from the past with the casting bumps ground off were (I thought) GM later production with incorrect-size part numbers and other information. The present repros are spot on with regard tothe numbers, etc. Unfortunately the number and placement of the mold bumps along the top is not the same as the originals, but also not far off.
I personally would spend the money for one. When you have a choke tube hole in your manifold, any one with a fair amount of Corvette knowledge will know that you have a non-FI manifold with an FI unit--and will immediately question whether or not the car is real. That's my personal opinion--for me, the hole needs to not be there!

          Thanks Mike,

There is a certain vendor in Southern California who sells carb manifolds with the choke tube hole welded shut. Any opinion on those? If done well this would seem to be a better alternative.

            Joel--
David Crane has done that--then stippled the area to make it look correct, then sprayed it with cast iron plasma so that the entire manifold discolored at the same rate, rather than the weld discoloring at a different rate. That's the most correct end product that I've seen beyond buying an original FI manifold.

It probably would make more sense to ask him. Crane's Corvettes--San Diego.

                  Dick,

$500 per his website, but as I mentioned in my email it is always best to talk to David rather than relying on his website.
