Just thought I would invite all of you to wish my 1964 a Happy 44th Birthday today. I only wish I could rebuild my own body like I could my car. Heck none of us would ever age. Anyway thanks for your support with my car restoration and any future help.

There, now having said that, I hope you'll join me in wishing my 63 a Happy 45th Birthday on this coming Wednesday the 9th. I was always happy to know mine was built on a Tuesday (not a Monday or Friday car). Having worked for GM 22 years I was always aware of the significance of that.

Unit #19,147, the 623 rd unit built in July 1963.

You're right about the human vs. Vette comparo; My cars engine has never been apart, nor it's clutch or transmission. Me, on the other hand, had to have a triple by-pass in 1993 (age 54), two back surgeries, arthritis in all my joints, etc. Good thing my clutch foot still works ok, and my brake and throttle foot is good enough so I can go out for my heart therapy sessions in my Vette.

Oh! My Gosh!! A saturday O.T. car! Did you find the Coke bottle in your frame rail yet? How about that half pack of old Lucky Strike's?

Actually, about the time your's was being built, I was just placing my order in April. Took delivery in August back home in Wisconsin. I was in the Army then and went for the best deal I could get using a dealer in rural Wisconsin. It optioned out to a list of $4,666.65 and I got it for $4,178.71 (incl. $121.71 sales tax). Even then the dealer charged only $10.80 for the "EZI Glass" instead of $16.15 for "Tinted Windows" as I guess they were only used to tinted windshields, not side glass. I feel guilty about that to this day, but they are no longer in business so there is nothing I can do.

I had to arrange for my leave to coincide with delivery of the car which caused mine to have two delivery dates stamped into the trim tag a week apart. They anticipated our arrival and I couldn't make it as i was traveling with some buddies.
