Would someone be so kind as to post a picture of the vacuum fitting and metal line coming off of the intake manifold for the power brake booster on a 454 with a Quadrajet? My original is long gone and the mounting bracket on the reproduction piece I bought doesn't seem to be a close fit at all. Thanks.

There were several of these pipes used over the 70-72 period and even GM information is very confusing as to which was used for 1970 with LS-5. So, make sure you have the correct one. Chances are, if the one you have does not fit, you have the wrong one.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: Vacuum line for power brakes
Tom,Richard...What year is your cars? My late 71 454 has the vacume line coming off the rear of the carb. My metal line is dark or black looking, the attachment point on the carb looks the same as yours.

Re: Vacuum line for power brakes
My 70 is a May build date. Nothing comes off the rear of carb but the back side of the TCS sol.Last edited by Richard R.; July 6, 2008, 08:35 PM.- Top

Re: Vacuum line for power brakes
Thanks Richard. That's exactly what I was looking for. Each of the reproduction pieces I've bought had bends in them in between the fitting and bracket, which I now see is why they didn't fit.
John, I have a 1970 as well. I think '70 was the only 454 that took vacuum from the intake manifold. Later cars pulled it from the base of the carb.- Top
