Trust me! Trust me! I did not write the copy for that ad. But, I like it.

Nice information, did not know that Exide batteries has been in business for such a long time.
My dad was born in 1917 and his first car was a Whippet, bet it did not have anything this modern on it.

DELCO doesn't really exist anymore. The rotating electrics part was sold off and carried the Delco-Remy name for a couple years, and now is refer to as only REMY.
The other part morphed into Delphi. So the Delco name only exists in the aftermarket.
Andersen Indiana where the majority of the company was turned into a real ghost town for a while. A couple of the plants are still untilized, but most were shuttered.

Yes. The successor company, Delphi. They've got some great technology, and they're still a big company. Hard to characterize.

Delphi still has a large operation in Dayton, Ohio where much of GM resided for many years.
Like the rest of the U.S. automobile industry they continue to struggle.

I could see the writing on the wall when Delphi was spun off from General Motors in 1999. Delphi was into electronics not cutting metal. That is why Saginaw Steering Gear is in the process of being sold off.

By way of additional GM/Delco heritage, the "AC" in "AC-Delco" stood for Albert Champion, the inventor of that type of spark plug. Not sure, but it would appear that after selling out to GM he may have gone off on his own to make spark plugs under his full last name: "Champion"

I studied the diagram as it says, and I am convinced it will not work! - There is no computer!!

I wonder what someone in 50 years is going to face trying to restore an '08 Z06.
