    1967 Marina Blue blues

Having trouble getting the right color of Marina blue for my 67. Have had sherwin, ppg, dupont all mixed and they are all wrong. The only one I have that looks right is the duracryl PPG laquer that I have. But we don't want to use laquer. Any thoughts? Anyone had any luck? Lost points on color at Bloomington last week. We are going to strip car and do it again, this time with the right shade (I hope).

    Thanks

    Jeremy,
What was said about the color? Too light, dark, too much metallic? What brand was used on the car?

I had a similar situation with my Marlboro Maroon '67 convertible. Done in the early '80's with R-M and the shade was dead-on. Late '90's re-done with PPG and was a little too dark IMO. Jim

Try to find an area with original paint and have it scanned. It will get you close enough that a competent painter will be able to tint it to match.

I used Glasurit (sp) when I did my 67 in 2001 and it was the exact match.
