    Part number details-'69 wiper motor

Anyone have the correct part number for the 1969 wiper motor? I had 5044731 from my NCRS book, but I lent it out and can't confirm it. I have a wiper motor that was supposedly a '69, but is PN 4939300. Is this a 70-72 part number? This number is stamped in the housing under the Delco marking.

Also, what is the configuration of the white label? Is it visible from the engine compartment when installed? Is the number on top different from the part number? The number below is some kind of Julian date, right?

Of course, the pump pretty much covers up everything which is why it costs twice as much as the motor. This is what part number? (is 4919684 right?) 3 outlets for 68-69 right?

    Steve----

GM #5044731 sounds right for the motor. The number is on a small label affixed to the motor case of the pump. This is the part number for the MOTOR AND PUMP ASSEMBLY as used in PRODUCTION and never available in SERVICE.

I don't know what 4939300 is. Most likely it's a component of the wiper motor assembly or a casting number of a component of a wiper motor assembly.

The 68-69 pump was a 3 port pump. 1969-only has a solenoid "splitter" valve on the driver side of the pump. So, a 1969 pump is very easy to identify from configuration alone.

Yep, Joe, I think you are right all around.

I see the label repros that are offered list the 5044731 as 1969, as listed in the JG. The Julian dates are in quarters. The 4939300 is in a black area, stamped under a Delco marking. I found a site off of Google which listed the same part number for a 1070 (in Spanish, thank you) so Im guessing this was found on at least all the 1969-72 pumps.

      Thanks for the help.

          Erik-----

In this case, the 4939300 number is a casting number for the cast housing component of the pump assembly. It might also be the part number for the housing but I can't confirm that because the housing was never available as a separate part, only as part of the complete motor assembly.

I only have the picture above. I do not have a picture of the wiper assembly if that is what you are looking for. Maybe someone else can help you out.

Erv - the sticker with part # on your motor; is this one of those Paragon reproduction stickers? Looks good in any case.

Sorry for dredging up such an old thread, but does anyone know the exact dimensions of the original '69 5044731 label?
