427 / 435 by-pass hose paint ?

Hello friends,
Preparing for judging, On a 69 L89, is the by pass hose painted with the clamps on, just the lower clamp painted, overspray in the aluminum intake ?

Attached is a picture of a Bow Tie '67s bypass hose for an L-71. Different year and configuration, but I believe the process would have been the same.

From appearances, it looks like an almost vertical line on the bypass.

Of course this could be completely wrong for 69 L-89 but it is food for thought.

Hi Danny,

Here is a pic of a survivor by-pass hose from what I think was a 69 but I don't know which 427 it was from.

The other two pics are of a restored 69 L88 but I would tend to think that the "mask" would have been the same for all aluminum head 427s. These restored pics were supplied to me from one of our more experienced judges so I take it as being as good as from a survivor.

Most I've seen are 1/2 painted with bottom clamp in place. Not a clean line but blending toward the top of the hose.
