    late 54-55 seats

I notice late seats are missing the side filler depression on the back cushions on these 54 55 Corvettes and they don't fill the soft top lid area having a gap . Are these repro cushions not designed correct. Top pic is my 55. Lower pic is original 54 back seat showing no gap.

Roy, my 54 seat back has the depression for the filler. I reupolstered this about 9 years ago from Al Knoch material. Haven't seen any recent ones though.

Roy, I don't know the answer to your question, and I suspect others are equally in the dark, hence the lack of responses to your post. However, I would think that John Kennedy, the acknowledged guru on 53 to '55 interiors, would know the answer. I'll ask him the next time I talk with him and share the info with you. Mike H.

Thanks Joe ! I'm asking because I see many with out it on e-bay selling restored 55 for 100K and more not having the correct seats. Second design soft top assy should all have it and like I said the big gap at the top area between the lid and cushion ' I've watched judging and they let them pass.

Roy, my repro covers had the indent sewn in to them, the repro seat foam did not... Got therm from the same vendor, go figure.

I think what happens is that new owners don't know then buy or order the wrong seats and cushions then install them. I don't see many venders saying the difference between seats for 53 to 55
