1988 headlight motors
I understand it is a common problem for the headlight motors in 1988's to die.
Can they be repaired or is the only repair a straight replacement?

I don't think it is a common problem for the motors to die. What is a common problem is they get where they won't rotate. This problem is due to the 3 fiber bushing that just disintegrate. When you take them apart there will be nothing but powder. You can get the kit from Ecklers and I think C C also. About $ 9.00 I think. If you do one, do the other cuz it won't be long before it needs it. It is about 1 1/2 hour for the right and 1 hour for the left with a break here and there. P.S. I used vaseline to hold the bushings in place while I put it back together. Tom
