I have the Goodyear Regatta's on my 63, and have for 4 years now. Not to say they are the best in any way, but I'm plenty satified with them. I bought them at a Goodyear store where a Chevy Trained Corvette mechanic worked part time doing the front and rear alignments. That was part of the deal and was important to me as I knew the radials required re-alignment, specially with the rear. Anyone can do the front. They are fairly nice looking, easy to maintain, and give me good ride and handling characteristics (of course anything is better than bias ply). I also push mine up over the century mark on occasion and they seem to be up to the task, but I know they are not designed for any race or sustained high speed driving and I keep that in mind. I do believe you will need a correct set of bias ply tires if you intend to have it judged. Check your 67 JG about this.

Thanks Stu, yeah - I had planned to get a full balance and alignment as you suggest. I'm willing to sacrifice the judging points for drivability, no intention of going to bias ply - I drive my car. I'll gain some points back by going to an original brand (and loose fewer points than when I top flighted last year).

The regatta's seem to be well rated within their class
