    C-1 54 starter relay

There are three electrical terminals on the starter relay. A purple wire goes from ignition switch to the relay. A yellow wire goes from the relay to the starter, and a black wire goes to the neutral safty switch.
Question which terminals do those wires attach to.
I am temporarily by-passing the neutral safety switch, does that black wire need to be attached to a ground for starter to operate?
    Thanks, Ted

I am temporarily by-passing the neutral safety switch, Yellow and purple you connect when the relay goes bad later on! does that black wire need to be attached to a ground for starter to operate? (NO) the safty switch at the PG is the ground
    Thanks, Ted

Did a search and found this while trying to confirm the hook up. I came to a different conclusion, because I think connecting the purple wire from the ignition switch to the left post will only energize an unconnected 1/2 of the points in the relay without activating the coil to bring the points together.

Looking at the relay with the mounting holes up and the center terminal down, isn't the correct way to connect it: black wire (nuetral safety switch which provides ground) is the right side terminal, purple wire is the bottom terminal (ignition switch wire that provides 6 volts to the relay coil and one side of the points...that's why the four terminal relays have a jumper added if you cut off the fourth terminal off to make it correct) and the yellow wire hooks to the left terminal (provides 6 volts to the starter once the coil is energized and the points in the relay make contact).

        Any opinions?

        Thanks.

From what I understand, as long as you don't earn over $250k annualy, you'll be ok.

True, but I think a tidal wave is coming in about 40 days that may change things.
