    Bloomington Auction

What gives with Proteam auctioning off about 40 cars. I got a brochure in the mail. What will it cost to ship these cars? Of course proteam have their own trailors. I suppose Mecum cut proteam a deal on that many cars. WARNING: I did hear Dave Ressler will be there to buy the 001 cars. Who has the 001-54?? DG

Rumor has it (yes, a reliable source) that sales at Pro-Team are WAY down due to the economy. So, you may very well get your "best" price on one of their cars at the auction. I'd bet they are ready to move as many as possible.

Was just through Napoleon on a recent motor trip down east. Proteam salesman Brian Hay told me that they've recently sold MANY cars overseas; Oil-gazillionaires from middle east (Dubai) and from Russia have been making batch purchases. Also to Europe in general, due to low value of the US$. They don't like this situation, 'cause once sold to these far corners of the world, they never get the chance to sell it again, unlike the case with US / Canada buyers.

Pro-team has closed their Auburn sales location and need to open up space at the original store for the extra cars.

I also know that Terry is trying to recoup a bit from a few purchases he made at an auction in January......seems he got a submarine without realizing it......it's on Ebay for $20k more than what he paid for it as the starting offer, even after a bad writeup on the car in "Corvette Market".....funny how '70 LT-1 convertibles are suddenly popping up all over the place recently......

                Hi Wayne,

I'm guessing that this is the same Brian Hay who used to be a Quebec and then Ontario chapter (chairman) member?
Great guy and very knowledgeable to boot!

That doesn't surprise me at all - yes, your cars are very affordable (to put it mildly) in euro country.

These dealers can't wait for you to get in the car and come to them in Ohio! The bills keep coming , overhead never stops, so the Terry's of the world have to get his cars to you. The online and physical auctions are the only way to sell. You can bet your life that Terry has a deal with Mecom that you can never get unless you are selling your L-88.

It's true they are selling a lot of cars overseas as the Euro is equal to about .64 cent on the US dollar. what they are paying is cheap to us.
