    Dutch Postbank (ING) ad

Another nice ad I've found this week featuring a Vette (1978???) of the Postbank (sub-branch of ING) for car insurance. The are also featuring a television ad 1 and 2 starring Jan Mulder (soccer guru) speeding on the Dutch Afsluitdijk (bad for Vette image)...

I'm thinking it's a 1976 based on the rear Corvette logo and the Stingray on the front fenders.

Come on Rob - even YOU should know that 78s had the big back window.

Wherever it is, they are driving on the WRONG side of the road! Unless, of course, it's limited access with another bridge to the left and out of the picture for the oncoming lanes.

Sorry for my ignorance...is the Netherlands a RH or LH drive country? I would figure with the Germans right there, it would have to be left hand drive.

In Zeeland? Heck that's less than 10 miles from my house!

But I'll bet you didn't mean Zeeland, Michigan, did you?

No excuse, Rob. It's a Corvette.
Even my wife and kids can get close.

Virtually every year from 53 through 96 can be easily distinguished by unique characteristics. Once 1997 arrived with the C5s they virtually eliminated even the smallest year-to-year variations that one can pick up on the exterior of the vehicle.

when you do a wiki search it tells: C-4 or Composition 4 is a common variety of military plastic explosive

RH when I drove there in the '80s (at least I didn't notice any panicked oncoming drivers swerving to get out of my way ). I did notice, however, the police highway cruisers - white Porsche 911s with big fat day-glow orange stripes up and over the top.

                              Rob,
Thanks for the pics. I'll bet they had a lot of guys signing up for highway patrol in those days! In my mind's eye, I recall just a single orange stripe on a white car, about 18" wide that went up and over the middle from front to rear, but it was a long time ago and I'll be the first to admit that my memory isn't what it used to be.
