'70-72 Wiper Door Trim

Is the trim on the wiper door and the fender caps supposed to be painted except for the tiny raised bead closest to the windshield?

Seems like most cars I've seen lately have unpainted polished aluminum trim.

YES. Spend your time looking at original, unmolested Corvettes. The others will lead you astray. You will wake up in the morning and ask yourself what you did the night before.
