    1960 horn relay

I am trying to get a non-original 60 started. The last thing I have to get wired together is the horn relay. I do not have an original horn relay. Have the original wiring harness. How do I wire in another (67 corvette horn relay) relay? The 60 is not available and the 67 one has more than 3 connections. thanks for your help.

I just got a 3 terminal relay from Corvette Central for my 62. Works fine. I had to have the horns rebuilt since the originals were shot.

Most local auto parts stores carry them as well. Not original, but they work. Got mine at NAPA

Don't know anything about a '67 Corvette horn relay. But relays only need 3 terminal to do their job. The extra terminals are probably just convenient power take-off points.

Can you find 3 terminals marked "H", "B", and "S" on your relay? If so, you should be able to make that relay work. I believe those letters stand for "horn", "battery" , and "switch".

Run a wire (black) from the "H" terminal to the horns.

Run a wire (red) from the "B" terminal to a 12v power source. There's a 12v power source in the wiring harness.

Run a wire (tan) from the "S" terminal to the horn button.

the 67 horn relay is a press fit between the wiring harness connectors and the horn relay(ie, no screws ). as i recall, the c-1's fasten the horn harness to the horn relay with three slotted screws so if you have an original harness, you'll have to butcher it at the relay. as mentioned previously, go to a napa store and ask for a 57 chevy pass car- era horn relay. mike
