Question on brake switch adjustment

My brake light switch seems to be very sensitive . Lights stays on unless I
tap the brake peddle. Would the bracket holding the brake switch require bending toward the front ? Thanks for any suggestions.

Wayne, the switch is attached by a nut on either side of the switch. Adjust the nuts prior to bending anything. Also, check your return spring, did it break?

These CAN be 'touchy' especially with age... The bracket that holds the brake stop light switch has to align the switch's plunger shaft onto the brake pedal swing arm keeping it DEAD CENTERED or else the switch plunger can fall off the swing arm and fail to track brake pedal movement.

I adjusted the two nuts and centered the switch. The spring is in place.
