    '66 parking brake rod finish

The rod that connects the parking brake lever to the equalizer on my car shows no traces of having been cad(zind)plated. Although the JM calls for that finish, has anyone found theirs to be finished otherwise? The lever attached to the frame does show its' original, cad finish, which is why I'm asking

How about the finish on the 2 nuts that sandwich the equalizer bracket?

    .....thanks

Rod is cad/ zinc. Lever is black.

        Rob -

That's the same nut that's used on the windshield washer nozzles - it's zinc-plated.

Looking at a '65 California car that has NEVER seen a corrosive environment, the "L" shaped lever and the rod back to the equalizer link do not show any sign of either paint nor plating, for what it is worth,

The pics in Noland Adams book seem to show the lever as painted black and the rod as cad. Any way, I guess it's a matter of choosing to follow the JM or do what it appears came originally on each car.

My mistake....after removal and a thorough cleaning, the original cad plating was there after all on the rod. Thanks...
