    Weatherstripping softener

The person before me always had the top up on this 65 convt and the weatherstipping at the rear bow was turn back towards the front of the car and over time has taken that position. I have clamped the WS in the correct position but because it has been the wrong way for so long, clamps are not the answer without softening the WS. In the past I have used WD40 to soften hoses etc and ease installation but don't like to use this around the canvas top. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks, Bill #20328

Turtle Wax or Son of a gun. Either of these will work. Any tire dressing product will work. Keep soaking it down and wear rubber gloves. Slimy stuff. I use Turlte Wax brand. I also used this to lube up my hardtop window weatherstip for install. DG
