William, used Rag Top #44866 from Ecklers and it made an 8 year black top look like new. Got lots of comments on my new top on the March Texas Road Tour.

Others may cringe, but when I had my 66 covertible, I used Simple Green, in a 25% dilution with a soft bristle brush to clean the black vinyl. It worked so well that I used the same technique years later when my wife bought a Mustang convertible with a tan top. Once clean, I sprayed Amorall on the top of the Corvette and wiped it in with an old rag. Made it look pretty good for a 30+ year old top.

comet cleanser and a brush works great just keep the painted surfaces wet down well to prevent the comet from causing streaks on the paint

I used the same mixture on my original 70 light tan soft top.
It worked great as well.
